I am specifically referring to the hotel at 12th cross street because even the name was in doubt. We were told it was Treebo, but there was a Daffodils signboard but Octave Suits board also up. The hotel though far from it was a disaster from the onset. Reception does not speak English, very sullen. Three boys at reception look like as if picked up from the streets because absolutely no idea of hotels. They said we haven’t paid, insisted we pay(which we did). Five hours later they returned the money saying it was a mistake. Room is large, mattress like a rock. Air conditioning cannot be regulated. Linen dirty no towels. Bathroom clean but very very old. When we checked out at 715 am no one to be seen.

A traveler's lodge not a hotel

If you are looking for a hotel this is not one. If you are looking for a lodge this could meet your expectation. The room was large and spacious. The bathroom small and dark with poor lighting and poor plumbing. The bed was basic but, to be fair ,large with several pillows many without covers. Glasses and cups provided with a dilapidated tea making electric jar were too small for any practical purpose. The room was clean but did not appear to have been sanitized. The room had two air conditioners but only one was in service and it was just about OK because the days were not very hot. Some of the lights were flickering and had to be kept off. Room service was not different from any lodge service. The staff were very polite and helpful. They brought what ever we ordered from the restaurant downstairs in double quick time. I dont think they had any in house kitchen but that obviously was not a disadvantage because of the numerous restaurants all around the building. This lodge is located in a busy central Bangalore area and so one could walk around to several different kinds of restaurants and shops. Food and drinks were therefore no problem. The other advantage was the car park which was in the basement directly connected with the lift service. Over all I recommend this lodge if you are satisfied with the available facilities here.

Octave Suites Residency Road Bengaluru 659396487 We agree with the previous reviewer, American Terrorism, the photographs are outdated and the property is dirty and poorly maintained. We were upgraded to a larger room than we booked. The property had a lift. These were the only positives. The hotel does not provide breakfast but referred us to the South Indian restaurant next door. The location was good and close to Brigade Street and also the Garuda Mall which has an excellent food court on its upper floor. The cleanliness of the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The property is old and tired and little in upkeep maintenance has been done. The chrome fittings were all tarnished and grimy. The shower was dark . The cleanliness or rather lack of it meant that we were extra careful not to walk in the bathroom without our thongs. The ceiling was stuffed with toilet paper to fill the gaps. The internet was atrocious and one would have to constantly attend the reception desk to obtain a password or connectivity. We did not trust the crockery and washed these thoroughly before using them. Coffee satchets were strictly allocated and if you asked for more than the two provided you got only two more and a lot more of tea and whitener which you did not want or ask for. While there was a flat screen TV there were no instructions on how to operate it. The hotel provides an iron and ironing board. The latter is rickety and filthy. Any rooms over the bar or facing the street would be extremely noisy. The staff were helpful with the internet and ordering an Uber but what was annoying was the manager in front of his staff, indicating that we must give a good rating or his staff would not get their bonuses or promotions. This is poor management and also harassment.

Disappointed

It was a very short trip en route to another city. Had a couple of meetings in town. I realized that I made a mistake in choosing the location — this place is on a really busy road and right next door (or perhaps part of the same establishment) to a busy bar/restaurant that is open until midnight. Arriving in the early hours of the morning l had a hard time to figure out where the entrance door to the hotel was. My ‘executive suite’ was spatious but with a cranky phone and a kettle that wouldn’t switch off automatically. Come morning and instead of a decent Bangalore breakfast and filter coffee, I get a ‘set breakfast’ of machine coffee, few slices of paratha and poha!!! I shouldn’t have opted for ‘breakfast included’. There is an Udupi restaurant next door. The only silver linings were the polite and helpful staff. Anyway, this wouldn’t be my choice of accommodation on my next trip.
